Ant Hampel has lectured in Events and Entertainment Marketing at Victoria University, Boston University, Sydney University and R.M.I.T. Ant also frequently addresses industry conferences and expo’s as well as being part of the ISES organisation (formerly on the ISES committee of the Melbourne Chapter).
A passion for social justice and improving the lives of others sees Antony Hampel contributing to many cause related projects for charitable organisations where his vision is create news ways of raising awareness and funding for worthy causes including Red Cross, Mirabel Foundation, Are You OK Day, Fifteen, Y Gap and Open Family.

Fortunately I had an early start in music, my father a concert violinist began teaching me at the age of three and since then music has never left my side. Fortunate in the sense that I have had the opportunity to continue this experience into my professional life over the last twenty five years.This aspiration to create and perform music has opened up many interesting and varied avenues for me, many of which I walked down, and some of which I ran down and all of which have given me skills and experience to be involved in everything from managing number one multi-platinum acts like Taxiride, The Androids, Richard Clapton and Chrisitine Anu, to performing guitar on stage with Kylie Minogue at the seminal Sound Relief concert at the MCG. At various times I have also worked with international music acts like Kiss, Matchbox Twenty, Cindy Lauper, The Back Street Boys, two Australian Prime Ministers and one of my favourites, working as a script editor under Jeff Hayes the Executive producer of the universally successful American TV series “Law and Order”!
I was recently interviewed for a new university text book to be published by Penguin as a guide for graduates on the kinds of jobs, skills and greater requirements to be a part of the events and music industry. I enjoyed this immensely as an opportunity to pass on that kind of information to a new generation that only comes from years of hands on experience. I was able to offer insights into everything from touring with bands in the UK, Europe and America in real rock and roll tour buses, to recording guitar parts for famous TV shows to my three years as the sole entertainment consultant for the new Crown casino; programming 180 acts a week in 30 locations around the building 24 hours a day…and attending most performances!
I am lucky that on an almost daily basis I work with great Australian acts like Jimmy Barnes, Delta Goodrem, The Hilltop Hoods, Jessica Mauboy, Vanessa Amorosi, Jon Stevens, James Reyne, Justice Crew and Ruby Rose to name a few.
Memorable highlights include being on the road for Tina Turner’s worldwide farewell tour, creating and co-producing the number one most played song in Australia 2000 as well as The ARIA number one record (Everywhere You Go) out of my studio along with a phone call from Madonna asking permission to use the video clip I created for The Android’s “I wanna Do It with Madonna” at a the release of her new record.
This variety of experience has given me another key element crucial to my career, an extensive network of contacts all over the world from managers to agents, record companies, publishers and television and film production companies.
On an event basis I have been fortunate to work with and deliver unique experiences and programming for many great clients including Nike, Westpac, Seek, Origin Energy, Ford Australia, MGM Grand Casino , Crown Casino, the Grand Prix Corporation, Coca Cola Amital, BHP Billiton, The Victorian Racing Club, David Jones, Myer, The Djerriwahh Festival (3 years, 40,000 people), Accor, Suncorp, The AFL, The NRL, Cricket Australia, The Prime Minister’s Office, The Shane Warne Foundation, The Pratt foundation and many others.
